HANDOUT--vocab lesson 7 (due Monday, October 9)

ABSENT? Turn in vocab lesson six and make an appointment to come in and take test six. Also, pick up or print the HANDOUT, vocab lesson seven, which is due Monday, October 9.

TUESDAY, October 3
We did more pre-writing work with "What is Love?" and we discussed how to determine which suspense and falling action to write around a climax.
                        NOTES                        DISCUSSION

Students will have a chance Thursday during class to rewrite their essays and redo their plot charts to change their test grades.

ABSENT? You need to get these notes from someone whose notes you trust...and you need to do it fast because we're using this information tomorrow in class. You could use class time tomorrow to copy notes from someone, but then you'll miss class time to actually do the make up test. If you miss the make up test, you'll have to come in before or after school to do it.

WEDNESDAY, October 4
Because of the PLAN test today, these classes did not meet.

ABSENT? You don't need to make up anything, but the crossword puzzle is there if you want to do it. It might help you prepare for next Monday's vocab quiz.

THURSDAY, October 5
Students had the hour to complete a make up test (plot charts and essay question) to earn back some points on their Lit. Terms test. After the REtest, they completed a vocab crossword puzzle (due with vocab assignment on Monday, October 9).

HANDOUT: Vocab 7 Crossword Puzzle (Due w/vocab Monday, October 9)

ABSENT? If you have the notes that we took on Tuesday, October 3, then you should come in sometime before or after school to take the make up test.

FRIDAY, October 6
Today is the deadline for switching to a different outside reading choice.

Intro to Colonial Period in American Literature --in groups, students read parts of a long intro in the literature book. Each group reported to the larger class about their own section and what important events or ideas were mentioned.
                        NOTES                        DISCUSSION

ABSENT? Read pp. 36-44 and take notes.
