TUESDAY, September 26
We continued our work with Unscrambling and Imitating sentences, completing an imitation of the sentence we unscrambled last Friday. Students wrote one with a partner and wrote one individually.

ABSENT? This won't be easy. You'll need to get the notes and then write your own imitation of the sentence we unscrambled last Friday. If you have trouble with this, make sure you come in before or after school to get some help.


WEDNESDAY, September 27
We unscrambled and imitated one more sentence, this one from Charlotte's Web. Students wrote one imitation with a partner and one more imitation individually.

ASSIGNMENT: Complete two imitations of "When his father/who was old..." and two imitations of "Wilbur awoke and looked for Charlotte." Due Thursday, September 28.

THURSDAY, September 28
"Graded" and turned in the imitation sentences we worked on this week.

Then we did a pre-writing activity, using claim and evidence to pre-write an answer to the essay question from last week's test: What is love?

ABSENT? Talk to a few people and get the notes and assignment instructions from someone whose notes you trust. You'll need to turn in the pre-writing assignment about "What is Love?"


FRIDAY, September 29
SSR: Sustained Silent Reading. Students read silently all hour.

By next Friday, October 6, you should have settled on a book for outside reading. There will be no more switching titles after October 6.

ABSENT? You should be reading your outside reading book, but you do not have to make up the SSR grade.
